Watch for fake recovery messages
Be cautious of messages claiming you must urgently verify your wallet, reconnect your account, or pay a fee to recover funds. Lookalike domains and fake support emails can make these requests appear legitimate.
How to protect yourself
- Open the exchange’s official app or a trusted bookmark to check announcements.
- Never share your seed phrase, private keys, passwords, or verification codes.
- Avoid unsolicited recovery services and unexpected wallet-signing requests.
- Check the full domain name before entering credentials. HTTPS alone does not prove a website is legitimate.
Review your domain security with CertPing
For businesses, review DNS configuration, email authentication, and TLS certificates as part of your security checks. DMARC helps address spoofing of your own domain; lookalike domains require separate monitoring.
